Ive needed a way to do reverse Google image search on iOS and this works perfectly. Thanks, really handy.
This app doesnt seem to ever find any images even remotely similar to the images I want to search. Even taking a photo of the Pepsi logo finds nothing similar. That makes no sense.
I read the description and thought this app would do what I wanted - and, according to the function, it should, but I never found any pic it "found" to be anything related to the images I used. Maybe its the fault of the websites, but this should not be an app that is advertised as working. If I were you, I would avoid.
It works and works very well. I am very glad I have it so now I can reverse image search on my IPad. Yay! Thank you for solving this iOS problem.
Works well but needs an update. When you try to do a new search its just a black screen and you either have to re-install it or re-start your phone. Please fix this.
No longer can locate a photo from albums in Ipad 4. And after your newest update on October 13, now not working on IPad Mini either!! Please fix!!!
Stopped working after last update and cannot find any support for this app.
No longer works. Please fix.
Update totally killed this app useless
Wth! Loved this app & now with the update you cant upload an image to search?! FIX IT
This was my go-to app for reverse image searches, however, the last update has made it completely unusable. The search function still works, as I can re-search items in my history, but without access to Photos or Camera, what good is it?
Not worth the money
No other program can stand in comparison to this one. I panicked when this app was deleted off my phone and I tried the other ones until I remember the name of this. Completely worth the money, the others are free so you really get what you pay for.
This app is awesome, anyone who says it isnt is not searching the right images
Cannot use Photo Roll
I decided to do 3 simple test, I took a picture of a known novel and it failed to find it, 2nd I took a photo off of google images and it still failed to find it, and finally I took a picture of a movie and it failed to find that. The worst app in the world, not worth $2.99.
I have an iPhone 5 with current software. I purchased this app to determine the origin of a reposted image I saw on Facebook that had been used as a meme. I took a screenshot, cropped it using the picture editing function, and was able to use this app to find the original image on an international site through Google. (Sure enough, it wasnt what the person who posted it thought it was.;)) This app allowed me to open the search results in Safari so I could navigate and bookmark the way I am used to and keep results with my other Safari saves. I also used the app and the same method to determine the artist of an uncredited image that someone else posted. Perfect for me, and well worth the $1.99!
Evaluating similar apps clearly showed PicFind was FAR superior. =^) However, once a graphic image or photo is found the built-in quick download and save function sometimes fails. Just tap the other top icon to open in (Safari = compass icon) browser - then use the (tap-and-hold) photo save feature! =HIGHLY:RECOMMENDED= ...tested on iPad mini & iPhone w/ iOS 8.3
Your own Google-fu and redditss r/whatisthisthing is more useful. The app does certain things well: if theres text or if the image is a location or reused it finds it very quickly and accurately. It also only goes to the search results page so you have to click through if you want to actually read about it/order it/ etc. Anything else (identifying cables, faces, misc. household items) goes to a generic image search and more often matches the background patterns than item I am trying to identify. Google is the only search engine which comes up consistently. Of the 5, one only tells you the colors in the photo, one consistently doesnt connect, two are ify on finding a similar image, and one seems to post your own photo to itself so that it can show you various images (I got random sketches the first time and erotic fan art the second, before I deactivated that engine. Not what I wanted to see at all). There is also no way to edit photos in app. You can take a picture, use a previously taken or saved picture, or even draw the item. So far I have only gotten typographic symbols when I did a drawing search, which is interesting but have nothing to do with what I was trying to find.
I just wasted my $2.
